Blue Steel Damascus Blade

This is definitely my most favorite folding knife I have ever bought. I’m an avid knife collector(I own around 40+ blades)and this pocket knife is the real deal, it most definitely Damascus steel. It’s sharper than any of my other blades were straight out of the box. The weight is good and it’s well balanced. The pocket clip works very well and the assisted opening is very nice and fast.

I got a TacticalGearz titanium handle knife with a G-10 SanMai Damascus layered blade which are made in only one place on earth.. G-10 is only made in Seki City, Japan….
To my knowledge they’re the only ones who have the proprietary secrets to making these blades which you also find on JA Henckles Japanese branch Miyabi Knives.
Shun also has their knives made in Seki City as well and it’s the same G-10…
I own two Miyabi knives as well, one an 8” Kaizen 2, and a Miyabi Artisan which has a HRC of 63!!! Which allows a 9 degree sharpening angle!!! So I can literally feel it cutting into my cutting boards!! No joke!!
So I’ve been using this Tactical Gearz knife for 3 years now and nothing has ever even come close!! It holds an edge so much longer than any EDC I’ve ever seen or heard of!!
It’s December 27, 2022 and I just got back from a five day trip to our cabin in the mountains of W.VA and I used the knife to cut about twenty Christmas gifts open, FYI, I sharpen it with diamond coated 400g,800g, ceramic followed up with a leather strop… And always test with a shave, before the trip…
I also used the knife to cut open various bags of nuts and other foods items and pushed it hard by using it to cut and pry kindling off of split hardwood logs of various oaks, maples, and mulberry trees to start fires twice a day for five days…
We arrived home and had left several of the larger wrapped gifts at home so I used the same knife to cut the packaging and tape off again and it cut just as well as when I first sharpened it!! But here’s the kicker, after all that I would of bet that it could never shave the hair off any part of my body!! Never but I found a splinter and after sterilizing the tip used it to help extract that splinter and realized how sharp it still was so I gave it a try and took a couple passes on the outside of my lower leg on the shin and it saved the hair clean off!!!
I couldn’t believe it!! Come on!! 99% of every knife I’ve ever used gets too dull to do this after cutting paper more than 3” or 4” inches!! And this blade had done literally hundreds of inches of paper not to mention the wood!!!

You can clearly see the high carbon strip of steel running down the center of the back of the blade and it is sandwiched between those two beautiful layers of Damascus which protect it and keep it from shattering or smelling it half
It also comes with one of the smoothest actions you’ll ever feel in a knife because it has an actual bearing in the joint mechanism, so it feels so good I can open and close using it as an anxiety figit type tool!

The knife is wonderful. it looks exactly like pictured. It opens up and locks smoothly. Fully extended the knife measures roughly 8.25" , measuring 3.5" from point to heel. The 2" handle feels great in my hand. Was sharp out the gate. The Damascus pattern is beautiful, as is the handle design. Super clean. Stoked I got this for myself as a B-day present.
